Dr Hayat trained at Imperial College School of Medicine and Oxford deanery. He returned to London to complete his specialist gastroenterology training. During this period he undertook an MD research degree into the use of advanced diagnostic techniques in Upper GI disease.
His work has been presented at the AGA, UEGA and the BSG. He is a specialist advisor for NICE on Gastro-Oesophageal reflux Disease and is a Principal Investigator in the UK for the first licensed treatment for Eosinophilic Oesophagitis. He is currently a Consultant in Gastroenterology at St George’s University Hospital.
